For my sister, who's having a hard time turning 60 this year, I wanted to make something so cute she maybe would forget the number! My first attempt at all the frilly layers. Everything is popped off and fussy cutting that silly mouse and pig was, well--fussy!
A bit of lacquer on the bows and inside the birthday wish...
I like it! But it really did deserve the back side stamp: If you knew how long it took me to make this card you would never throw it away! (Not that she ever throws a card from me away, even though I have pleaded with her!) Just hoping she enjoys something a bit different! The hardest part, how do I mail it? Think I might put it into a box, or cushion it inside her gift.
Thanks for stopping by!

10 Minute Craft Dash #20
Ok, a quiet Sunday, and too humid to do much outside, so I decided to try this crazy 10 Minute Craft Dash I've been seeing so much of! My first attempt and now I know why I haven't done it before! I just got to the assembling of it and realized I never planned for any embellishment or ribbon, so try to find the right color near-by! And oh, my desk was in complete shambles by the time I was done!
But...9 minutes 4.7 seconds later (including looking for a pair of missing scissors!) this is what I came up with:
Definitely much more yellow/gold than I ever use, but I have to admit it was kind of fun! Maybe I should have timed how long it took to clean up after!

Birthday Wishes
Needed a quick Birthday card for a friend so I thought I'd keep it simple with a few little details like a vellum doily and pretty bow.
Added a simple pocket inside with another doily and now its ready to go!
I've got quite a few cards I need to get done this week, so I'd better get going! Thanks for stopping by and hope your summer is a good one!

DeNami Fresh Florals Hop
I have always loved the floral designs of DeNami and so I am very excited to see everyone's work here today! Glad you could join us and I'm sure you're getting some beautiful ideas!
You should have arrived here from Annette but no worries if you didn't...you can always just head back to the DeNami Blog to be sure you make it to everyone on the list! Not only so you don't miss any fun but also to be in a chance to win one of the two $20 gift certificates to DeNami's store!
I had a very hard time deciding what to do and made several cards but finally decided on this one. (Good thing my week got busy or I'd still be making more cards just because I'm never satisfied with any one in particular.) This card is actually taken from an idea of a Linda/Linel class many years ago. (Very talented women in Minnesota who got me hooked on DeNami too many years ago to count!) I have been wanting to play with some of the beautiful floral papers of DeNami and this one shows it off with a bit of elegance I think!
I happened to have some cute ribbon with similar colors and polka dots so thought I'd play with this method of sticky red tape and making the ruffle. Ever have one of those times when in the middle of doing it you ask yourself, Why am I doing this! After a little bit of challenge and ripping it off to replace, I decided it could stay!
After lifting up the card you find another tiny card where a written message can be placed.
Just a closer look to try and show the glitter, because most things are not complete without it for me!
Hope you are enjoying the wonderful ideas along the way. Now you are off to see what Tammy has for you!
You have until May 20th, 2013, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for a prize).

Need a little spring here!
We woke to yet another snowy Sunday morning today, so this afternoon when I needed a couple cards for church members I knew I needed to do something with spring in it! I won a very generous gift certificate to DeNami from Dana's blog (who inspires me with her beautiful simple cards) so I have some new stamps I've just been itching to play with and these tulips were top of the list for me!
I love surprising people with my cards so they don't always open the way you would think most cards should! This one has a small flap over the top and when you lift that up you open the white card down towards you.
Inside is a pocket with a note card I can remove and write a note on. I have to say these colors and the tulips made me feel much better--as long as I didn't look out the window!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have spring wherever you are!

Valentine Morning
I couldn't resist having more fun with my new toy and make some more beautiful doilies! My husband works at a paper mill and when they were still making colored papers and other useful papers, like writing paper, he often could bring home the ends of rolls or things that were discarded or not perfect. I have a huge roll of white paper and it is perfect for these doilies. Plus the green wrapping paper (you'll notice is wrinkled) I also stamp and use for wrapping paper just from me to him. He is always delighted when he sees I'm using things he saved from going to the landfill!
Sooooo....since he's working day shift tomorrow, which means up at 4a.m. this is what will wait for him in the kitchen tomorrow! His bag of Maple Nut candy even looks sweeter wrapped in a doily!
Good thing he has no idea how to follow my blog, because this is of course a secret until tomorrow, so shhhhhhh! Don't tell!
Giggling and glad you stopped by to take a peek!

DeNami Adorable Animals Blog Hop
I hope you are enjoying this DeNami Blog Hop! What is cuter than all these adorable animals!? Hopefully you arrived here from Tenia Nelson . If you need to get back to the beginning for any reason--you just hop on over to the DeNami Blog and make sure you don't miss anyone. You'll want to leave a comment on each one for a better chance at winning one of the Gift Certificates for shopping at DeNami!
I made my first card a while ago for my husband. Didn't want to make it too frilly but it still kind of turned out that way! I just think Valentines are more fun if they're really sweet and lacey like the old fashioned ones! I loved the little scalloped hearts and had to pop a few of those off as well as the center circle of pups.
But then, I just received my new Martha Stewart circle edge punch system this week and I had to play with my new toy! This really made it look more like a doily and much prettier, so I made this for my girlfriend. It's hard to see the raised layers and glitter on the hearts and dots, but it came together kind of sweet!
I couldn't resist adding an adorable inside too!
There they are! And now you're off to see Lisa Elton .
Thanks for stopping by...
